Episode 15: Lewisburg and White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia

Lewisburg, West Virginia is fondly known as “America’s Coolest Small Town.” Located in Greenbrier Valley; just off Interstate 64, fifteen miles from the Virginia state line.

It’s not far from the town of White Sulphur Springs, made famous by The Greenbrier Hotel and it’s Cold War Era Bunker. Lewisburg is a destination in and of itself with a charming downtown that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Robert’s Antiques & Wine Store– This in-town spot features fine, high end European antiques and a well stocked wine shop. There’s a macabre oddity display in the back that can’t be missed. Seemingly a pet project of the owner’s, it features animatronics and ghoulish thrills. The beer and wine selection is great and features local brews and charcuterie fixins.

Brick House– This shop is housed in a downtown historical home. Two floors of interesting finds including estate jewelry, huge antique anatomical charts, and vintage home items.

Patina– Also downtown, this modestly sized shop has great variety, including clothing and home décor.

Tattered and Worn– This store is conveniently located between town and I-64. A large spot with two separate sides full of hidden gems like the blue swung we snagged for only $8!

The Very Thing– Located slightly out of town, this spot is chock full of well maintained antiques. Another shop with a good variety of eras represented. We scored a vaseline glass lamp globe for peanuts.
