Where We Shopped

This trip brought us to Anderson, South Carolina, a charming town near where our parents live on Lake Hartwell. I’d mapped out a few places to stop for antiques nearby. Centerville Pickers Market is located inside a former pharmacy, with sprawling aisles filled with the classics like Tupperware, swung vases, a Shirley or two, and unfortunately, Rae Dunn.
Our second stop was Apple Dumplin’ Antiques, which is located in the heart of downtown. It has two levels and resembles a movie theater with its high ceilings. It wasn’t open during our visit, but The Vine Antiques is another place to check out.
Where to Drink

The Upstate of South Carolina is blessed with a fair few breweries. We opted for Magnetic South Brewery, which started in neighboring Greenville before opening this outpost. It has a great lineup plus snacks and games for the kids.
McGee Scot’s Irish Pub and Carolina Bauernhaus Brewery & Winery are also nearby, but we didn’t make it on this trip.
Where to Eat Nearby

We had a lovely lunch at The Bradbury Bistro that gave European vibes with delicious sandwiches and baked goods. They’re also open for dinner, so I’ll certainly be back! Next time, I think I’ll also try Corner Bagel Bakery & Deli, especially earlier in the day. The Local Uptown is an Anderson staple and has pub fare and local beer.
