Episode 10: Smokies Antiques Extravaganza

This episode is a bit different from others. On a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains, we stopped at a number of stores over a number of days. So instead of focusing on one, this video includes them all!

Where We Shopped

Rivermill Antiques

The drive up to the Smokies has excellent shopping. We visited three in town. At Rivermill Antiques in Walland, we found plenty of the University of Tennessee memorabilia, Gone with the Wind lamps, Fiesta Ware, and monks.

A Antique Journey in Maryville had a wild array of novelty decanters, monks, glassware, and outdoor furniture. One of our last stops in town was Highway 411 South Antiques, a sprawling shop with a little bit of everything, including lots of Christmas items like the iconic ceramic trees.

We’ve got to give a special mention: to The Old Curiosity Shop in Crandall, Georgia. It’s hard to know what to expect from the road, but it was an excellently arranged store without vendors, just one owner. Sammi picked up colorful votives and we loved the Toby jugs.

Where to Drink

Blackberry Farm Brewing

There’s no shortage of places to grab a drink in the area. Our favorite was Blackberry Farm Brewing, a project from the award-winning luxury resort with delicious bites and a variety of farm ales.

Company Distilling is another can’t miss, located in Townsend. The distillery crafts excellent whiskey, gin, and cocktails.

Where to Eat Nearby

The Restaurant at RT Lodge

The Restaurant at RT Lodge is a must-try destination for local Southern meals using the best ingredients at the campus of the namesake inn. Amici has great pizza and pasta from Blackberry Farm alums.

Other Places to Shop

Southern Heritage Antiques in Etowah, Tennessee had World’s Fair glassware while Antique Outlet Mall Walland and Louisville Mercantile in Maryville had Pigeon River Pottery. Other faves included McQueen Pottery, Resurrected Relics, and Five Point Finds.
