Episode 2: Queen of Hearts Alpharetta & Proper Hop Taphouse

Where to Shop

City Antiques
City Antiques

In this episode, we went to Queen of Hearts Alpharetta, one of the other locations of our favorite antiques store. We sure weren’t the only ones arriving as soon as they opened! Here we found plates, pin-up art, and vintage books.

Two for the price of one! After stopping in Alpharetta, we detoured to City Antiques in Roswell. The two-building store has everything from antique to books to glassware, along with my favorite airline memorabilia and antique hardware.

Where to Drink

Pop's Coffee
Pop’s Coffee

Before our first stop, we grabbed a coffee at Valor Coffee, a colorful and charming shop in Alpharetta. Pop’s Coffee Co. is another favorite, set between the two shops.

When we were done shopping, we went to Proper Hop Taphouse, a bar in downtown Roswell with a variety of local and national brews. Another favorite is Variant Brewing, just down the street, which is known for its IPAs.

Where to Eat

Fellows Cafe
Fellows Cafe

While we didn’t get a chance to eat there, Rickshaw Thai Street Food came recommended and was close to Queen of Hearts, offering dishes like tom yum soup, larb salad, and pad Thai.

Fellows Cafe is a personal favorite, set in a charming house in Roswell. The cafe has great coffee and breakfast dishes, including huevos rancheros and avocado toast, not to mention a killer cinnamon roll.

Despite its strip mall locale, From the Earth Brewing has both incredible food and house-brewed beer. The fried chicken sandwich was my personal favorite.

And if you’re looking for something light, Souper Jenny is an outpost of a local chain with soups, salads, and sandwiches.

If you’re a record collector, you’re in luck! Comeback Vinyl in Alpharetta is a clean and well-organized store with both new and vintage titles across all genres. Mojo Vinyl in Roswell is another popular stop.

You’ve likely never seen anything quite like Red Baron Antiques, which specializes in big pieces and supplies to the film industry. But note that they are only open on weekdays.
